Research X Report :: Website X Comcast Town

The report on a website, our group chose Comcast Town, created by Goody, Silverstein & Partners. Comcast Town is a website that was created as part of the launch of Comcast's new advertising campaign. It allows people to watch the latest commercials from Comcast, download wallpapers and ringtones, and move into Comcast Town by designing a virtual apartment. It is a marketing ploy to promote the Comcast company in an engaging manner.
Everyone is invited to move into Comcast Town and design their ultimate entertainment room. Once registered, citizens of Comcast Town can invite friends, check out their neighbors' rooms and watch some of the hottest TV shows around via Fancast. Also, the more you do on the site, the more Comcast Bucks you can earn to get new items for your apartment. Users who choose not to register can still watch the latest Comcast commercials and download ringtones and wallpapers.
I think Comcast Town is a super cool interactive interface website allowing the designers to create and design their ideal room choosing from a whole slew of furniture, electronics and home accessories. Four finalists were chosen based on their originality, overall design, use of assets, color and space.
